CENTRE FOR PATRISTIC, MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE TEXTS

The Center for Patristic, Medieval, and Renaissance Texts is a research institute at the Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology at Palacký University Olomouc. It focuses on the study of important works of European Christian culture with the aim of making them accessible to the Czech public and preparing editions of previously unpublished Latin manuscripts related to the Czech lands. The center is conceived as an interdisciplinary team bringing together classical and medieval Latin philologists, philosophers, theologians, and historians.

Olomouc University Social Health Institute (OUSHI)

OUSHI is a scientific and research organization whose goal and mission are scientific research and education in the field of health, with special emphasis on the social and spiritual determinants of health. The topics it concentrates on are health inequalities and vulnerable groups (youth, seniors, patients, Roma and other ethnic groups).

We offer:

  • Preparation and implementation of Czech and international research. The research is mainly focused on social and psychological determinants of an individual and group health.
  • Education and training of students and young scientists, supervision activities, training of trainers.
  • Consultancy and advisory activities for academics, students and lay people in the fields of psychology and phenomenology of health.

M. J. Metzger Institute for Dialog and Reconcili-ation

The Institute is a research facility at the Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Palacký University Olomouc, operating within the Department of Systematic Theology. It brings together experts mainly from the fields of philosophy, theology and history. Its mission is the study of the life, thought and work of the Christian intellectual Max Josef Metzger (1887–1944), but also research in areas related to his pioneering work and martyr’s legacy, especially in the fields of political theology, ecumenism, pacifism, liturgy, ecclesiology and spirituality. In the light of Metzger’s intellectual legacy, the Institute’s research activities also focus on the interdisciplinary deepening of the themes of dialogue and reconciliation, with reference to their current social significance.
